AgScape was created in 1991 with the mission of building awareness and understanding of the importance of an agriculture and food system. The Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs provides baseline funding in support of AgScape programs and services.

– Teachers teach one on one to students in China and surrounding areas. Most students are between the ages of 5 and 12.

– Classes are 25 minutes. Teachers are provided with a slide show where the student and teacher can both draw on the slide, and the teacher and student can see and hear each other through the camera and microphone. Teachers are encouraged to use props to make the classes fun!

– The classes are taught mostly from 6-10pm Beijing time and on the weekend and during the summer students are available all day Beijing time.

– There is no minimum time commitment from the teachers; however, around 7 hours a week is recommended for the teachers to be available for classes. Teachers can change their availability week to week.

– The pay is between 14-22+$ USD per hour. The pay is determined by the base class pay, along with bonuses and monthly incentives. The pay is deposited into a US or Canadian bank account.

– Since the company markets themselves as providing students with an American curriculum, only North Americans can apply.
