This week’s expert contributor:
- Katie Mentone, BEd Program Coordinator (firstname.lastname@example.org)
In my Student Centre Term 2 weekly schedule, there’s no T2P – does it continue in Term 2?
Mentone: It does! EDUC 5008 Transition to Professional Practice (T2P) is a full-year course and a required component of the BEd program. The course description below is included below:
EDUC 5008Q Transition to Professional Practice
Presentations, workshops, seminars, symposia, and other events to support field experiences, practica, and specialty areas of study. These include Ministry, College, and Federation presentations, career and job preparation activities, and research, leadership, and other projects. Half days weekly, years one and two of the B.Ed. program, non-credit.
The Student Centre Weekly Schedule isn’t designed to accommodate Professional Program courses, which is why T2P, Practicum and AFE aren’t visible in your Weekly Schedule.
We have scheduled your courses to ensure there are no course conflicts; all teacher candidates are expected to attend T2P in both Term 1 and Term 2.
While much of the T2P content is mandated, we’re still developing programming designed to introduce teacher candidates to a variety of voices. If you have any ideas, or would like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you!
