Working on your teaching resume?

If you’re looking for an experience to inspire you before starting the BEd, searching for meaningful opportunities between year 1 and year 2, or getting ready to apply to full time teaching positions post graduation, you’ve come to the right place!

TheTeacherCandidate offers a variety of resources to support your job search. You can start by checking out our Employment Resources page. In addition to a resume guide (created for teacher candidates by teacher candidates), you’ll find copies of employment workshop resources and presentation notes from past years.

Among our Education Job Postings, you’ll find opportunities for incoming and current teacher candidates, as well as graduates. For some positions, you’ll need to be OCT certified, but this is not a requirement for many other postings you’ll discover! If teaching in an Ontario public school is your goal, check out our helpful Apply to Education Guide – as you probably know, most boards post their Occasional Teacher lists here.

And don’t forget – if you’re going into year 1 or year 2, check TheTeacherCandidate blog over the summer months for updates on Transition to Professional Practice (T2P): your professional development series for the coming academic year!

Stay tuned for more updates on T2P this year! As teacher candidates grow from student to teacher, the Transition to Professional Practice (T2P) course guides experiential learning, professionalism, and job preparation over years 1 and 2 of the B.Ed. These important presentations, workshops, and professional development series are built into your timetable to ensure you won’t have any course conflicts. Additional details on each upcoming event will be communicated via the blog and OWL.
