If you plan to play floor hockey on Wednesday, February 4, you must sign the waiver available at https://westernu.collegiatelink.net/form/start/6331.
Practicum Placements will be posted February 27th on the Portal Login. You will receive an email on the 27th with your login and password information.
If you have not done so, update your profile to be ready to contact your new Associate Teacher. Once the placements have been published, you will have one week to contact your Associate Teacher and organize transportation.
As a reminder, Teacher Candidates may not arrange their own placements.
Please note that decisions made about the location of your Practicum Placements are FINAL.
If you have completed your undergraduate degree at Western (including Kings, Brescia, & Huron); you must wait to order your transcript for the OCT until you have applied to graduate with your B.Ed. If you order it now, it will be sent prior to your B.Ed. degree conferral and you will then need to order another one once your B.Ed. has been conferred. (The Apply to Graduate period will begin around the first of February — exact dates will be posted once they are available.) Once you have applied to graduate and are ordering your transcript, be sure to request that it be held for degree conferral.
Next Friday, January 30, the OCT will be here to provide you with information about applying for your Ontario Teacher’s Certificate:
~9:00am for IS and TS candidates (arrive between 8:15 and 9:00 to have your student card scanned)
~11:00am for PJ and JI candidates (arrive between 10:15 and 11:00 to have your student card scanned….we will be scanning in the gym for this session to minimize congestion outside of the auditorium)
Because of the changes to the B.Ed. program in 2015, you MUST become certified with the OCT by September 1, 2015. After this date, the new certification requirements (completion of the two year program with additional practicum days) will be in effect….and you will not meet these.
Becoming certified by September 1, 2015 will require that you begin your application early — it is therefore imperative that you attend the OCT session so that you are well-aware of what is required of you.
The Seussical team is in need of volunteers for show nights to act as ushers and concession stand sales people.
In addition they are looking for two people to act as Follow Spot operators…these volunteers will also need to attend four pre-show rehearsals and the attend all five shows on February 9, 12 (2 shows), 13 and 14.
If interested, contact Karen (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Sarah (email@example.com).
